Here is a brief description of the steps of the installation of World Time Explorer. The description is by John Doe from Kalgoorlie, West Australia. Any resemblance with the author of WTE is purely coincidental!
I run the installation by double clicking on the file wte_2_0.exe. First I have to select the directory where I want to install it in. Since I want to place it on drive E because it has more space, I click on E in the drive box below, and then double click on the directory Programs above, so in the end the first box says E:\Programs\Timezone. I click OK.
After copying a lot of files, the program asks the following:
Just for curiosity I click "No" to see the explicit registering of the DLLs:
Of course if one of these registering ends with an error, I can contact the author to fix that.
Now the installation asks if I want the icon of the program on the desktop.
I confirm. The last message about that the installation was successful, tells me it will help me find my time zone the first time it is run. I check the desktop, there among other icons is WTE:
I double click on the icon to start WTE. The first screen is:
Since I live in Kalgoorlie, not in Perth, I try to find that in the list box of cities. First I scroll down to Australia and "Australia - West"
I click on the line that corresponds to Kalgoorlie, and then click the "Select" button. In the Main Window now the Australian flag is present on the first entry. To make sure that my Entry 1 (Kalgoorlie) matches the Windows time zone, I use "Timezone Info" and "Check Windows Settings":
World Time Explorer is now ready to show correct times of locations around the world.
